Infected
Lead Designer - Planet Moon Studios
So many long nights, extremely late deliveries from the third party tools support, and this being among the first PSP games to market made developing Infected a huge challenge and an extreme pressure cooker. With only months left before release, the engine that we were using was finally ported over to the PSP platform. With so little time left, we needed to create dozens of levels. Yet, we managed to do so, even with heavily restrictive poly counts and low concurrent enemies on screen.
Duties
Lead the overall design efforts for the game.
Integrated the story with gameplay.
Prototyped gameplay on the new PSP platform.
A major feature of Infected was this notion of infecting the world with your PSP. In multiplayer deathmatch, if a player wins, their avatar's skin would then over-write all of the enemy skins with the winner's skin. The only way a player could eradicate this "virus" would be to go on and win another multiplayer match with a different player. But then their skin would then replace all of the loser's enemy's skins on his PSP. And a round and around it went.
