Senior Systems Designer - Lucasarts
This was an incredible team that I had of good fortune of working with. We all had a singular purpose... make the best Star Wars game to date! As the systems designer, my job was to tune the strengths and weaknesses of the 4 main characters, the player's troopers Delta-38 "Boss" (player character), Delta RC-1140 "Fixer" (the hacker), Delta RC-1262 "Scorch" (demolitions expert), and Delta RC-1207 "Sev" (sniper and close combat expert).
Duties
In charge of overall gameplay tuning of player weapons, weapons behavior, AI squad damage mitigation/damage output, and AI behavior/damage mitigation/damage output.
Lead Xbox controller tuning efforts and came up with the default configuration.
On the enemy side, I tuned their weapons and health points to make them challenging based on the number of enemies firing at Delta Squad as well as tuning them against the player character plus 3 other friendlies. Dropped enemy weapons could be picked up by the player character and so those weapons also needed to be tuned separately from the enemy's weapons. This was done to make tuning more consistent.
I also created and tuned the multiplayer weapons, all of which needed to be separated from the single player campaign to better handle separate PvP tuning.
