Mage Supreme
Senior Level Designer - NetEase Games
September 2018 - January 2019
Mage Supreme was a battle royale style brawler/fighting game using magical powers and medieval style weapons. I was brought on to help with the level design pipeline and level design maps and gameplay. This project had the potential for a fun, engaging game and I was excited to work on a game from the ground up.
Duties
I was in charge of developing the level design pipeline for the initial production and then to live ops and its weekly schedule.
Level design – I was responsible for new PvE missions, bi-weekly event mission content, tuning (including live tuning and defining the pipeline for that functionality).
Mentor junior designers.
Mage Supreme was going to be NetEase’s first, from the ground up mobile game in the Western Market. It faced many, many challenges from defining its content roadmap to issues with the tools. However, we made great strides on the design, art, and UI side of things and were able to iterate on the game’s feel, look, and flow with regular game tests and tweaks from feedback.
Its unfortunate that NetEase HQ decided to shut down the project and the majority of its staff in the Brisbane office. Now onto my next adventure!
