Armed and Dangerous
Senior Level/Lead Level Designer - LUCASARTS
This was a proud moment for me. As Lucasarts designers, we were "on loan" to Planet Moon, who were developing this game. While I was there, the Planet Moon team elected me as the lead level designer, kind of like a field promotion, even though Lucasarts didn't recognize it. But I'll take it!
Duties
Given “field promotion” to lead level designers by Planet Moon executives.
In charge of overseeing gameplay elements throughout the entire game of Armed & Dangerous.
We built these levels in Maya and populated the gameplay with the same tool. Loads of scripting was amply supported by the toolset. This was a fantastically fun game to work on and play. I wish it had better marketing because it was very well received by reviewers.
One of the game's most beloved features were the cutscenes. They had a Monty Python-esque feel and completely irreverent.
And finally, below, a couple of videos showing off some of the coolest weapons ever made for video games were made just for Armed and Dangerous. The Land Shark Gun and the Topsy Turvy Bomb. Click on the videos to watch these gems work their magic.
